Grade 11 – Braemar Pathway Program

Program Summary

Braemar College High School offers courses from grade 9 to 12. Braemar College is inspected and accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Graduates receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Since 1995 Braemar College has offered young people from all around the world a caring and supportive learning atmosphere. Braemar graduates have entered—and thrived in—some of North America’s top universities.
In grade 11, students explore the arts, Canadian and world studies, classical studies, computer studies, international languages, health and physical education, interdisciplinary studies, mathematics, native languages, native studies, the sciences (biology, chemistry, earth and space science, environmental science, and physics), social sciences and humanities, and technological education.
Braemar’s unique term system provides students with advantages they will find nowhere else. Braemar College has five intake periods per year. This means students can begin, or graduate, five times each year. It also means that students requiring less than eight credits can finish sooner than students in regular schools, which often have only two semesters. Each semester is nine weeks long, during which students focus exclusively on only two courses (except for students enrolled in the Express Option, who have three).
Braemar’s teachers are a caring, expert, and dynamic team of education professionals. They are certified members of the Ontario College of Teachers. Many are experienced working in different cultures and in different parts of the world. And all are dedicated to providing their students with the best possible learning experience. As a rule, classes are small and orderly, and average at about fifteen students. The classroom is a place of learning, which means disruptive behavior is not tolerated. Braemar is also a team of caring and supportive administrators.
The Guidance department works closely with students to develop a study plan to ensure they achieve their goals. Students intending to continue onto college or university can take advantage of Braemar’s University Preparation Program. Students who come for a period at Braemar College and return to their native school, may provide the information and tailor their program in accordance with their native country regulations.
Whether students start their pathway in grades 9, 10, 11, 12, the study plan is customized to take into account both the studies they have completed, as well as their short- and long-term academic goals.

NOTE: Some students attending Braemar College for the 2022-2023 school year may qualify to receive a Renaissance Scholarship valued between $1,000 and $4,000.
