Are you passionate about music? The University of Ottawa School of Music is one of the most important schools in the country. Come nourish your passion for music and acquire the rigorous training necessary for an active career in this field thanks to our eminent professors and our partnerships with renowned institutions, such as the National Arts Center (NAC) and the Symphony Orchestra of ‘Ottawa. Our music facilities are state-of-the-art and many of our teachers enjoy an international reputation and perform in concerts around the world or publish in prestigious scholarly journals. We offer comprehensive training in performance, composition, music education, piano pedagogy, theory and musicology.
While all types of music programs we offer open doors to teaching or a career in musicology, music journalism, or arts administration, the Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) was designed specifically for those who wish to embrace the profession of musician. To be admitted to the B.Mus., you will need to pass an audition and demonstrate mastery of your primary instrument at an intermediate or advanced level. Additionally, the University of Ottawa is one of the only institutions in the country that allows a combined B. Mus program. in performance with a major in science.
Science:
This program offers the opportunity to explore different scientific disciplines and thus obtain solid training in fundamental sciences. If, along the way, you express an interest in a particular field, you can reorient yourself in the program in question.
This program is offered in French and English. 
NOTE:   The University of Ottawa offers a partial tuition fee waiver scholarship to French-speaking international students. This significant contribution to financing their study project allows for a considerable reduction in tuition fees.
To benefit from the partial exemption scholarship, international students must:
  • accept an offer of admission to a program of study offered in French;
  • register full-time and take at least 3 courses (9 credits) per term in French.
OR
  • accept an offer of admission to a program in English offering the French Immersion Program;
  • meet the requirements of the Plan; And
  • register full-time and take at least 3 courses (9 credits) per term in French.
