Health is big business. Australia’s health sector is faced with growing commercialization, an ageing population and rapid advances in health technology. Now more than ever, forward-thinking professionals who can create new solutions where business and health connect are needed.
Students will learn how to navigate the rapidly changing healthcare industries with the La Trobe University’s Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Biomedicine. They will benefit from hands-on laboratory experience and have the opportunity to undertake work placements.
Students will build fundamental knowledge of chemistry, bioscience and health before delving into infectious diseases, epidemics and pandemics. They will also develop key knowledge in anatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, genetics, immunology and neuroscience.
Students will also get the technical and transferable skills needed to thrive in the world of business. They will be able to explore market and business research, interpret financial information, analyze data, and translate complex health and scientific information for non-scientific audiences.
