Program Summary

Journalism is currently experiencing a digital revolution (Internet, mobile devices and tablets, data journalism) which is transforming journalistic practices in favor of new techniques and approaches. The job market requires greater versatility from journalists, who must both understand major emerging social trends and maintain a wealth of specialized knowledge. This program helps future digital journalism professionals understand the challenges of journalism in the digital age to enter a rapidly evolving industry. This degree will provide them with the resources necessary to pursue a fascinating career as a journalist, researcher, presenter, media analyst or producer. 
This specialized bachelor’s degree in digital journalism is offered in collaboration with La Cité (program in French), CÉGEP de Jonquière (program in French) and with Algonquin College (program in English). The Department of Communication provides the theoretical, analytical and critical foundations, while college partners provide practical training. This training, combining theory and practice in journalism, gives you a head start when entering the job market.
